Becoming a Member

We believe that becoming a part of a congregation is more than being a member in an organization. We are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ in word and in deed. New disciple class classes are offered at least twice a year usually in the spring and again in the fall. The classes consist of three weekly sessions held on Sunday mornings at 10:10 are and cover basic Christian teachings from a Lutheran perspective.

Those individuals transferring to our congregation from other Lutheran congregations may do so via a Letter of Transfer, but may also wish to take part in the classes. Prior to being received as new disciples in the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran, we invite those joining the congregation to a new disciple luncheon where an overview of the ministry is shared and a tour of the facility is given. This is usually scheduled for a Saturday at 11:30 AM. The following day, at the Sunday morning worship service [either the 9 AM or 11:15 AM], the new disciples are formally received into the congregation. Following the service, a new disciple reception is held in our Fireside Lounge.
