Pieces Be With You

This ministry is a quilting group for those who want to learn how to quilt as well as those who know how. Quilts are made for young people going off to college, baptismal quilts, stoles for confirmands, and quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Please contact Cathy Wrobel, 313.822.1977.

Listening For God

Listening for God meets the second Wednesday of the month, sometimes at church, often in individual homes and is open to any woman in the church. The group reads and discusses contemporary literature and looks at how issues of faith are addressed in these stories and books. For more information, please contact Linda Bauer at 586.226.2276.

Naomi Circle

The Naomi Circle meets at St. Paul on the third Wednesday of the month in the Bethany Room. They meet from September to June from 12:30 PM to 3 PM. We begin our meetings with coffee and dessert. Then we study from our "Lutheran Woman Today" magazine monthly Bible study. The study is written for Lutheran women by Lutheran pastors. Please feel free to join us for an afternoon of faith and fellowship.  Helen Fick can be reached at 586.771.1499 for more information.

WELCA – Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

The Women of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church are guided by the Constitution and committed to the mission of the Church, WELCA, and the South East Michigan Syndical Women's Organization. All women of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church are welcome to participate. We play an extremely active role in providing spiritual and financial support to the Church, WELCA, and many outreach activities. Some examples of our work include:  the annual rummage sale, a spring outing that is open to all members, and the Christmas cookie walk. They hold an annual meeting in the fall to review reports, develop plans and budget for the coming year, and elect Officers.   President  Liz Jenzen available at 313.882.3986.

WELCA Rummage Sale

The Church rummage sale is a wonderful annual tradition. It is held in September and is a very fun event for all age groups. The rummage sale is organized and operated by the Women of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Many hands make the work of sorting, pricing and selling light.  Help is always needed and appreciated.   Treasures ranging from contemporary furniture to antiques and vintage clothing can be found at the rummage sale. It is very popular with the Grosse Pointe community and the proceeds are used to fund other Church activities and outreach ministry.   Donations to the rummage sale can be brought to the church starting in August.  Marie Zeller is this years coordinator.  Her number is 313.885.5052.

Sociable Saints

For over 40 years the Sociable Saints has coordinated fellowship activities.  Each year, the Sociable Saints hosts a variety of activities including an Oktoberfest, a square dance, and an outing to the Theater or a Tiger ballgame. They have also hosted a progressive dinner, and a road rally. This group is always looking for volunteers to help coordinate new activities.  For more information, please contact Jack Diesing at 313.882.5988.

Lay Theological Academy (LTA)

Lay Theological Academy provides ecumenical educational opportunities for adults in order that they may grow in knowledge, mature in their Christian faith, and become better equipped for ministry in the world. The group is made up of eleven churches in the Grosse Pointe area. A variety of learning opportunities are offered throughout the year.  View LTA website.   View The LTA Brochure - PDF.

Lenten Dinners

One of the highlights of the church year is our Lenten Dinners. Served from 5:30 to 6:45 each Wednesday night during Lent, these delicious meals fill the tummy and the soul! Proceeds from each dinner are earmarked for different projects throughout the church from Luther League to World Hunger.  The funds raised are matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Make sure to sign up or call the office for reservation!
